The tension between theory and practice always teaches more than either alone. What stands out is how physical retail forces immediate feedback loops that writing never quite captures - thetactile reality of a customer discovering exactly what they need creates clarity writing can only approximate. When I ran a small design shop years back, the exhaustion was real but so was learning what actually resonates versus what sounds good on paper.
